For HCPs

Letairis (ambrisentan) is a prescription medicine used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), which is high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs.

How to take Letairis

Letairis treatment is one pill, once a day, taken with or without food. Choose a time of day to take Letairis that is easy to remember and fits into your day.

How should I take Letairis?

  • Letairis will be mailed to you by a Certified Pharmacy. Your doctor will give you complete details
  • Take Letairis exactly as your doctor tells you to take it. Do not stop taking Letairis unless your doctor tells you to stop
  • You can take Letairis with or without food
  • Do not split, crush, or chew Letairis tablets
  • It will be easier to remember to take Letairis if you take it at the same time each day
  • If you take more than your regular dose of Letairis, call your doctor right away
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember that day. Take your next dose at the regular time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time to make up for a missed dose

In 2015, the FDA approved Letairis for use in combination with tadalafil for patients with PAH. When taken together, these 2 medications work in different ways to reduce pressure in the lungs. Ask your PAH Specialist if combination therapy is right for you.

Letairis dosing

Be sure the pills you receive are what your PAH Specialist prescribed

If your PAH Specialist indicated "Dispense as Written" on your prescription enrollment, be sure to check your shipment each month to ensure you're getting branded Letairis. If you aren't familiar with the packaging, or the pills you receive look different from these, contact your Certified Pharmacy or PAH Specialist to discuss.
